A therapist supporting a patient on rehab equipment

The team at Copperline

Two board-certified physical therapists, one rehab gym, and a rule that you work with the same person every visit.

Why Copperline exists

Andre started Copperline in 2014 after watching too many athletes get discharged from big clinics when their insurance visits ran out rather than when they were ready. The idea was a small practice where the therapist who assesses you is the one who treats you, for the whole session, every time.

We have stayed small on purpose. Two physical therapists, a rehab gym with real equipment, and a front desk that sorts out your insurance before you arrive.

How we work

Everything is measured. Strength, range of motion, balance and hop tests are recorded at the first visit and repeated as you progress, so the decision to return to running, lifting or work is based on numbers, not a hunch. You can see the numbers too.

We treat with our hands and with exercise, and we are honest about which is doing the work. Manual therapy calms things down; exercise is what fixes them. If something needs imaging or a surgeon’s opinion, we say so at the first visit and help you get there.

Dr. Andre Whitaker

Dr. Andre Whitaker

Founder and sports physical therapist · PT, DPT, SCS

Andre opened Copperline in 2014 after six years as the physical therapist for a college athletics department, where he got tired of watching athletes discharged before they were ready. He is a board-certified Sports Clinical Specialist and leads our ACL, shoulder and return-to-sport work.

He still plays pickup basketball on Tuesdays and has treated most of the people he plays with.

Dr. Elin Sorensen

Dr. Elin Sorensen

Physical therapist, post-surgical rehab lead · PT, DPT, OCS

Elin joined in 2017 from a hospital outpatient department and runs our post-surgical program. She is a board-certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist and works directly with the surgeons at the major Fort Collins orthopedic groups, so your protocol here matches what your surgeon expects.

She is a trail runner and understands, personally, the frustration of being told to rest.

Common questions

Are your therapists licensed?

Yes. Both hold a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, are licensed by the Colorado Physical Therapy Board, and hold board certifications through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.

Do you work with my surgeon?

Yes. For post-surgical rehab we follow your surgeon's protocol and send progress notes at each milestone, so nobody is guessing where you are.

Do you treat children and older adults?

Yes. We see athletes from about age twelve, and a large share of our patients are over sixty, particularly after joint replacements and falls.
